KESTREL 140
Technically, the Kestrel 140 is a Rec Touring boat, but it's so user-friendly for first-time paddlers that it can be seen as a long Rec boat as well.
The 140 has a longer waterline and larger carrying capacity than the 12 foot Kestrel. It also adds a front storage compartment and bulkhead, making a great choice for someone who needs a seaworthy, versatile design, as comfortable on small lakes and rivers as it is on a calm Lake Michigan day.
We stock three layups of the Kestrel 140, the poly, the TCS, and the ultimate version, the brand new Hybrid composite version, coming in at a feather-like 36 pounds! All three are in stock in our shop in Vernon Hills; stop by to take a look. Rudders are available as a $200 upgrade, with retrofitting available in the store.

DIRIGO 140
The long cockpit opening of the Dirigo makes it a great 'grandparents' boat, as anyone can easily get in the cockpit (and back out) and the standard jumpseat allows you to take along a small non-paddling partner. The 27.5" beam gives the Dirigo lots of initial stability, perfect for photography and fishing as well as just cruising around on the local lakes and rivers. One full hatch in back and a small "key depository" built into the front of the cockpit. Built by Old Town, the oldest name in paddlesports

PUNGO 140
The Pungo 140 builds off the success of the shorter 120, but adds carrying capacity and a more efficient waterline. The deep vee design tracks easily, allowing even novice paddlers to go straight and sure. One large storage compartment in the rear has plenty of space to pack for a 2 or 3 day trip, and an access hatch up front allows easy retrieval of drypacks or other stored items.
For sportsmen and women, there's an Angler version of the Pungo 140, adding two rod mounts, a rod holder and a folding anchor to the package. See our Fishing Kayaks page for more info.
